Mazda RX-8 takes leave of the Japanese market with Spirit R Series
Posted on October 11, 2011 by Yudy
Mazda has sent to Mazda RX-8 Spirit R series, a special edition for the Japanese market as a goodbye, since the production of sport with rotary engine or wankel will stop in June of 2012. From Mazda they assure that the RX-8 finishes, but that will maintain their philosophy to continue offering this type of motor that did the 24 champions to them of Hour of Le Mans in 1991.
Between the specific elements that distinguish to this special edition of a normal RX-8 we found the symbols Spirit R, tweezers of brake of red color, finished a black piano for the transmission tunnel, a transmission manual or automatic of six speeds (each version with some specific elements), Recaro seats type bucket, rims of 19 inches in color bronze or gray (automatic manual and, respectively) and three outer colors (to choose one, clearly): Aluminium Metallic, Sparkling Black Mica and Crystal White Pearl Mica.
Since there are saying, Spirit R series will only be available in Japan and the 1,000 units that hope to sell will commercialize from the 24 of November. We hope to be able to soon see another model of the Japanese house with a rotary engine under the hood and to power to be, with the character of the RX-8 that leaves to us.
