Mercedes CLS 350, test (assessment and data sheet)
Posted on September 22, 2011 by Yudy
Mercedes appears to have found the magic key in design when renovating its current range. We can not deny that the new Mercedes have a more youthful, even a large sedan and the Mercedes CLS 350 that have been tested on Autoblog.
That is something that is appreciated, and sure to be appreciated in sales. Customers who have been lifelong Mercedes, the car will remain because they are those that mark. But thanks to new design to show off their cars, clearly inspired by the Mercedes AMG SLS, have managed to open the spectrum of potential clients, a success.
Now no longer surprised to see a young person under 30 years driving a Mercedes C-Class Instead of wearing the "stale" star on the hood, now it has become a big star who heads a large grill. But let that go, to give a final assessment to the Mercedes CLS 350 that has accompanied us the last days.
Overall rating
It's a great luxury sedan with a powerful engine of over 300 horsepower. With these previous data, it may seem easy to make an assessment of the car, but do not think that is so simple.
The strength of the Mercedes CLS 350, as in all Mercedes is the ride comfort, the smoothness with which it moves. This makes it one of the most comfortable limousines have tried in recent years, and this despite the fact that equipped 18-inch wheels and low profile.
But at the same time, and although it is almost five meters long, the Mercedes CLS stands out for its agility in curves. The steering is very direct, and tuning of chassis and suspension make it feel like you're driving a smaller car.
The V6 petrol engine of the Mercedes CLS 350, is not convincing at low revs. If you want a car during acceleration performance based medium, exit lights and recoveries, I'd say you go for the diesel. When gasoline is missing "chicha" down, but thanks to the somewhat sluggish performance, fuel consumption also get a few years ago would only be available to a diesel engine.
Highly recommended is a sedan for those who want to maintain a status of elegance and sportsmanship, combined with a sporty feel, except for low engine behavior. Without doubt, they have updated this second generation of the Mercedes CLS 350 with an exterior that leaves no one indifferent.
